New Page + See You In a Bit!

Hi guys! 😀

This isn’t a new post, per se, but it is a new page/tab on the website! 🙂 My old “Meet the Cast of Doll Dimensions” tab was super outdated.  Some of my dolls have recently been gifted to some very sweet little girls I know, and I was recently able to retrieve out of storage some of my favorite childhood dolls, so I thought it would be fun to redesign this area of the website with a place where you can meet my core cast of dollies. 🙂

Also, I’ll admit that I have a few other motives for making these little bios. 😉 Firstly, I’ve really been wanting to type up and share my various descriptions of the dolls’ personalities and hobbies, since many of them never even leave my brain! 😉 A lot of the details you see are based on quirks of me and/or my family, actually, and are usually just fleeting thoughts as I go about life, like, “OH HEY Ashlynn sort of looks like Maria Von Trapp…I bet she’d love the Sound of Music!” or “I bet Holly would love chocolate!” or “Lizzie probably would read Jane Austen books!” Goodness, I bet I sound super weird now. Well, that’s how my crazy, exploded-funfetti-birthday-cake-brain works. 😉

Additionally, about 90% of the time, I completely ignore the personality that is given to the dolls by their manufacturer, and sort of make up my own little backstories. :} It’s totally fine if you don’t like what I make up, but it’s just my exploded-funfetti-birthday-cake-brain on the loose again. 😉 Also, it’s (sadly) rare that I feel like I can TOTALLY endorse a specific franchise, so this is really my way of enjoying the dolls themselves without the baggage that their company designed them with. 🙂 I mean, I don’t really care at this point what Mattel does with their characters, so I’m truly just using them as bases for new characters. Sometimes I might use a little character trait from the original, but the rest is from my exploded-funfetti-birthday-cake-brain. 😉

Oh, and about those childhood dolls that recently came out of storage…I’m hoping to do a separate post about this soon, but I was able to give them articulated LIV doll bodies, and I am SO thrilled that my lifelong favorite dolls now have fantastic articulation (they had almost none before), and I can’t wait to start including them more in photo shoots!

Another thing I wanted to mention is that I won’t be around much for about another week or two…I have just a little over a week left in my summer anatomy class, then I’m freeeee! 😀 Many apologies for the blog silence, but I’ll be back, I promise! 🙂 I actually had a day off this week, and got more than half of Urban Princesses: Episode 2 recorded, and I’m SO excited to share it! 🙂 I’m getting a lot better at using my voice modulator-thingy, too, so hopefully my voice acting will be a lot more consistent on the higher pitched characters (like Snow White), plus I’m able to do guy voices like Kristoff (spoiler!). 🙂 Also, I have some ideas tucked away for very soon after my class is done and I get the next Urban Princesses installment up…including one involving the fairytale that THIS is from! 🙂

Aaaand that’s about it! I really hope y’all enjoy the new tab, and hearing about how my crazy brain works when it comes to characters! 🙂 See you in a couple of weeks…now I gotta go study the brain. 😉

XOXOXO,

Grace

  1. I love the new page, Grace – your dolls have such vibrant personalities! Reading your blog is like reading a book with fantastic characters – that goes for Holly’s writing, too. ^__^ Good luck with your anatomy class (yikes!), and I can’t wait to see Urban Princesses Episode 2 when the time is right! 😀
