Winter Wonderland Photo Shoot feat. Tiny Knits and Crochets!

Helloooooo, lovelies! πŸ˜€

Today I am SO psyched to kick off the Christmas season here on the blog with a huge photo shoot of the Doll Dimensions girls wearing some of the tiny knitted garments I made! All of these were knitted with fingering weight yarn, and if you guys are interested, I can share the patterns soon!

I really wanted to pose the girls in the snow, but, um, I live in Florida….and THISΒ was the daily forecast for today.

Soooooo…….snow wasn’t happening. I may work at kids parties as Elsa, but I ain’t the real deal. πŸ˜‰

But fortunately, there is a magical substance available for purchaseΒ that I call “Instant Elsa”…aka spray snow! πŸ˜€ I was able to spray a plot of my grass white, and I think it looks fairly convincing! πŸ˜‰ (If you want the illusion ruined, there’s a behind the scenes picture at the end. πŸ˜‰ )

This is also a pretty monumental post for since I just bought a brand new Canon Rebel T5 camera on Black Friday! πŸ˜€ I LOVE it, and it totally beats the 10 year old Walgreens digital camera I’ve been using for the past year (yes, now you know my secret). πŸ˜‰

So without further ado, here we go! Hit it, Bob! πŸ˜‰ (it’s a family joke, don’t question πŸ˜‰ )

Here is Michael Buble’s golden voice for your enjoyment as you scroll through. πŸ˜‰

I made Elissabat’s hat using Lion Brand Bon-Bon yarn, and I hope to publish the pattern for it soon! πŸ™‚

LOVING my new camera!!!img_0144

Poppy is wearing a “scoodie” (scarf/hoodie) that is really just two granny squares and some strips. πŸ™‚img_0145img_0148img_0151

I call this next one “Sister Snowball Fight”. πŸ™‚img_0152

“Oh, it is on like Donkey Kong!”
“Awwww, come on, Poppy! I don’t have a cool scoodie to protect my hairdo like you do!”

Side note, but I’m totally in love with the gray yarn that I used for Frankie’s infinity scarf. the gentle variegation is a DREAM to work with!

I made Cameron’s vest with some lovely green sock yarn, and I love how it coordinates with her headband. πŸ™‚img_0169

GAHHHH THIS DOLL! Her eyes are so real looking!img_0170img_0171

CAUTION: Serious doll gorgeousness ahead. πŸ˜‰ Β img_0172img_0173img_0175

Dot Dead Gorgeous Operetta is one of my favorite dolls EVER. Her face is just SO perfect!img_0177

I call these “First Winter out of the Bottle”, since it’s Gigi (daughter of the genie)’s first Christmas here. πŸ™‚

BTW, this yarn is called “Unicorn Tails” and that makes me adore it even more. πŸ˜‰img_0178img_0179img_0182

You may remember this knitted shrug from one of my first ever posts, but when I was putting together the outfits for this post, I realized that the green in the shrug matches Cupid’s eyes perfectly!img_0200

And honestly, who could forget our favorite Wonderlandian, Maddie! πŸ˜‰img_0185img_0201img_0187

And how could I leave out my favorite girl, Abbey? πŸ˜‰img_0206img_0189

Snow kisses πŸ˜‰

I call this next one “BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!”

Because, you know, “Daughters of Rapunzel”…. πŸ˜‰

I also love this next one because it highlights the similarities and differences between the styles of my favorite two Ever After High doll sisters. πŸ™‚img_0218img_0198img_0219

Before I close, here’s a little behind-the-scenes as to what was actually going on around our winter wonderland. πŸ˜‰

Also, I call the sweater I was wearing my Miraculous Ladybug sweater. πŸ˜‰

Now that you’ve seen my reality (::cough cough:: 42% humidity ::cough cough:: πŸ˜‰ ) , let’s get back to the prettiness. πŸ˜‰ Come to think of it, though, the girls couldn’t be wearing sleevless sweater dresses if this wasn’t Florida, so maybe it’s a good thing. πŸ˜‰

Here are all of my Snow Bunnies!img_0223

I really hope you all enjoyed this post! I’m super, super excited to show you all of the Christmas stuff that I have in the works, and it’s gonna be a crazy December! πŸ˜€

Do any of you all knit or crochet? Have you ever worked in a miniature scale? πŸ™‚ Whose outfit was your favorite? πŸ™‚

Thank you so much as always for reading! πŸ™‚ ❀

  1. Wow! Those photos are absolutely gorgeous, it’s impossible to pick a favorite… and the knitted/crocheted accessories are amazing! It’s hard to work with that small of yarn, but you did an awesome job… I love the scoodie, and the bonbon hat, and that amazingly elegant shawl on Operetta. She really IS gorgeous!!

The music really did set the mood! And at least part of your yard is Christmasy, hehe. It must be strange to have 70 degree days in December! πŸ˜›

This is one of your coolest projects yet (no pun intended) – great job!!

    1. Thank you so so so much Claire!!!! πŸ™‚ ❀ Hehehe, I love puns! πŸ™‚ It is very strange to be so hot in December, but it's not that unusual for us…my family usually takes a family photo on Christmas day at the beach. πŸ˜‰ Thank you so much as always for your kind words….they mean so much! πŸ™‚ ❀

  2. These pictures turned out great! Gotta love the Canon Rebel DSLR cameras! I think my favorite was Poppy’s snoodie. Although since I crochet, I love everything, even the cute knitted items. I haven’t crocheted anything on a miniature scale, but that’s only because I have no reason to. If you ever want to trade weather, I’ll be glad to give you some of the cold Chicago weather for your warm Florida weather, LOL πŸ˜‰
