Welcome to our next installment of the Summer of ’66! 😀
Soooooo, how many of you guessed what this post was about from the hint in my last post? If you guessed that the theme is Mission: Impossible, then you’re correct!
As it turns out, the original Mission: Impossible TV show premiered in the summer of 1966, which (coincidentally 😉 ) is exactly what we’re celebrating in this blogging event! 😀 As I may have mentioned before, I have an extreme obsession with vintage spy noir type stuff. I HIGHLY recommend this show. It’s seriously an edge-of-your-seat, what’s-gonna-happen type show. It’s also pretty clean. Also, I admit (don’t hate me 😉 ) that I have not watched any of the Mission: Impossible remakes, so I can’t attest to those. 🙂
BUT, in case you don’t know, the plot of the show is that the leader (James Phelps in most episodes) of an elite team of spy operatives takes on missions of elaborate secrecy. His team usually consists of Barney, Cinnamon, Willy, and Rollin. I will be the first to admit that I had a major crush on Willy when I was little and first watched this show. Also, Cinnamon Carter may or may not have been my role model. 😉
Here are a few pictures from the IMDB gallery for the show, just to give you an idea of what we’re going for. 😉
So now that you’ve got the right mindset, allow me to show you what I created! 😀
First up is this trailer inspired by the show! 😀 Also, I may or may not actually do a series of spy/mystery themed webisodes in the future, but for now this trailer is all I’m doing. 😉 Yes, I know it is ironic to do a trailer with no show to go with the trailer. Just roll with it!! 😉
Also, I took these pictures of our team of operatives (which interestingly, has grown to 16 from the original 6 on my first M:I post)!
Feel free to let me know in the comments if you have questions about where certain outfit pieces came from. Some of the outfits are made by me, but many of the accessories and other pieces are made by Mattel. 🙂
Aaaaand I just realized you can see my reflection in this next pic. Oh well! 😉 Doesn’t Ashlynn look so rad, though? 😛
Poor Alistair…he still doesn’t have a girlfriend around here to hold hands with, even in the spy world. 😉
Oh, and I did decide to make this next picture my new header! 😀 If for some reason you’d like to see the old header, you can find it in my second Mission: IMDOLLSIBLE post. 🙂
Oh, and by the way.
