A Doll Rescue Story–Project MC2 Cameron Coyle

Hey, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope everyone’s enduring the cold weather…it’s in the 50’s here in FL, but that seems like the arctic to the people who wear sandals all year round. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, I made a quick stop at Goodwill yesterday, and they had WAY more dolls than they usually do. ย Lots of Disney dolls, but they were all the Mattel versions, and while I’d love to adopt them all, I don’t like to accumulate a ton of unarticulated dolls.

BUT, there was someone on the rack that I recognized from the moment I caught a glimpse of her leggings–Project MC2 Cameron Coyle! ๐Ÿ˜€ ย She was only $2!ย No stand or experiment, but she has ALL of her clothing related accessories. ย Her headband is still plastic-tied to her head, and even her purse is still tied to her shoulder from the packaging. ย Better still, her beaker shaped comb was tucked into her purse! ๐Ÿ˜€

Sure, her hair needed work, but I can take care of that! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (and from what I’ve heard, the hair can be pretty unruly straight out of the box anyway)

The girls were eager to meet their new friend and help her with her hair.

“It is awful, isn’t it?”

“Nonsense! ย We can fix you right up, darling!”

After a boil wash, voila! ย ๐Ÿ˜›

Meet my latest rescued doll–the new and improved Cameron Coyle!

And a selfie ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love her articulation, and the fact that her arms and hands can pop off for easier dressing. ย I also like her original outfit, partially because the layers are separate pieces, so she can wear only her shorts with her top, or only her pants.

Honestly, I’m really glad that I held off on getting a Project MC2 doll until now….it saved me $23!

Rest assured, you’ll be seeing Cameron around the blog some more! ๐Ÿ˜‰

To quote our new girl, “Nailed it!”

    1. Thanks!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ I was certainly amazed. Personally, I can’t believe someone would throw her out, but if they had too, I’m glad they had the courtesy to include all of her accessories. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Wow! You did a fantastic job with her hair! To be honest, her messed-up hair isn’t that different than my McKeyla’s hair (I changed her name to Agatha) right out of the box. Maybe I need to give Agatha a boil rinse too, it looks like it did a nice job! That’s an amazing deal, and she looks awesome with the rest of your dolls. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thank you!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s amazing what a boil rinse will do. I did leave her in the water for a few minutes, though, where I usually only leave them for about 30 seconds. As an aside, I was just looking at her purse and realized that her tiny wrench was in there! Whoever gave her away must have been careful to keep all of her stuff together. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. They usually have almost nothing–I was so surprised! I guess someone must have donated some all at once! I usually have a lot more luck on Craigslist, by the way. ๐Ÿ™‚
